Automate Sales on Your Shopify

Automate Sales on Your Shopify

Introduction

Did you know the average Shopify store only makes $2,000 dollars a month?

Given this is such a low figure, we need to find the best way to not only grow sales but find a way to automate our sales!

I’m going to show you how, let’s jump into it.

Overview

So, clearly we are not going to be able to automate sales entirely. Unfortunately, we will never find a way to automatically get new customers to your store. But, we can utilize certain features within Shopify to assist in increasing sales from your current customers, automatically.

I am going to show you four ways that you can do just that.

Abandoned Carts

First and most simply, we are going to automate or abandoned cart emails so that every customer who visits you Shopify store and does not convert, will be notified that their cart is still waiting for them.

Turning on Abandoned Cart emails are quite simple:

From your Shopify admin, go to **Settings** > Checkout.

In the Abandoned checkouts section, check Automatically send abandoned checkout emails.

Under Send to, choose who you want to send a checkout recovery email to:
  • Anyone who abandons a checkout
  • Email subscribers who abandon a checkout

Under Send after, select the number of hours that Shopify should wait before sending the abandoned checkout email:
  • Never. You can still manually send an email to customers.
  • 1 hour later
  • 6 hours later
  • 10 hours later (default)
  • 24 hours later
          Click Save.

Automating you abandon carts will allow you to recapture as many users as possible and turn them into customers automatically.

If you’re looking for more information on Abandon Checkouts and how to increase your cart recovery rate, I have already created a post on just that. Read it below:

          Post Purchase Pop Ups

The second best way to automate sales on your Shopify store is by utilizing post-purchase popups. There are a ton of applications that you can download that will allow you to create a popup every time a customer converts on your Shopify store.

With this popup you can encourage customers to come back to your store and purchase again with a discount.

Additionally, you could implement a referral program so your customers can refer a friend or family member and receive a discount off their next order.

If you are looking for an application I highly recommend an application called AfterSell, but there are countless options on the Shopify app store!

The idea here is to increase the likelihood of customers coming back to your store, automatically.

          Upsell Module

The third way we are going to automate sales is with an upsell module on your Shopify store. Specifically, we want to include an upsell module directly on your product page or in your shopping cart.

These upsell modules are a great way to increase average order value by recommending products to customers when they are on a product page or add something to their cart.

These recommendations can be tailored based on countless variables such as cart value or specific SKUs within their cart.

These upsell modules can easily be added to your shopping cart via an application on the Shopify App store. There are plenty of options, just search “Upsell” on the Shopify app store.

          Customer Flows

The fourth way is with customer flows!

How do you handle your first time customers? How about customers that have made 3 or more purchases? If the answer is the same, then you are missing out on increasing your sales automatically.

Customer flows allow you to put your customers through certain marketing flows automatically based on the actions they take on your store.

For example, for every first-time customers, you will want to create a customer flow that automates the emails and SMS they receive over a specific period of time. You want to try and stay top of mind as often as possible.

Another example would be setting up a lapsed purchaser flow where customers who have not made a purchase in a while will automatically receive an email or sms to try and bring them back.

These flows will help generate recurring sales from all customers who visit your store. All in all, Customer flows are an essential part to automating sales.

          Conclusion

Overall, growing your Shopify comes down to many factors but increasing our sales automatically is one of the best ways we can increase customer average order value and lifetime value.

So take these tips and go and automate your growth on Shopify!
